Cleveland-based electrical and RF test company Keithley Instruments Inc said today it is partnering with the Institute of Mobile Communications (IMC) of Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, China to work on joint research projects to expand existing applications, as well as research emerging wireless applications and technologies.
Keithley believes it is well positioned to aid the wireless technology research of the IMC, particularly in multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO), which is an emerging wireless communication technology that responds to the growing demand for more data in mobile communication devices, supported by the newest wireless standards being based on MIMO.
This collaboration allows Keithley and IMC to work on existing applications as well as research emerging applications. The IMC believes its partnership with Keithley will allow it to establish an advanced research MIMO platform.
