| When you apply a small ac signal to a trace on a pc board, capacitive sensors pressed against the IC package tops detect how much current flows to ground. If the connection from the board to the IC pin under test is open, a much smaller current flows than if the connection is good. This sensor is in an HP 3070-series tester's TestJet system. |
