Software transmits real-time data over the Internet

Laboratory Technologies’ Labtechnet, a $295 add-on to the vendor’s Labtech Notebook and Labtech Control packages, lets you use the Internet via any service that provides a Windows Sockets interface, a LAN, or a wide-area network to transmit data points to remote locations. Before this product emerged, no software supported this feat—although it was technically feasible. What’s more, the vendor claims Labtechnet transmits data 1000 times as fast as other methods permit. Labtechnet can establish a continuous flow of information from multiple sources to multiple endpoints. Although the tool lets you broadcast data to any interested observer, it also gives you the option of securing data and allowing access only to authorized parties. Applications developed with Labtech Notebook and Labtech Control work unmodified with Labtechnet. You can try out Labtechnet on the World Wide Web at http://www.labtech.com/ltnet.html.
