Design kits available for SRAM-based PLD family
The Motorola Programmable Array (MPA) is now available, and you can get free design kits for designs with as many as 8000 gates on the World Wide Web at http://Design-NET.com/fpga. Entry-level MPA design kits for MPA1016 and 1036 devices, including software, a downloading pod, an evaluation board, and an MPA device, cost $695 for PCs and $995 for Sun workstations. Design kits supporting all MPA devices cost $2295 for PCs and $3995 for Sun workstations. The MPA design tools accommodate schematic capture, simulation, and logic synthesis from more than 10 vendors. Suggested retail prices for the MPA1036 PLD with 8000 gates and the MPA1064 PLD with 14,200 are $77.68 and $187.55, respectively (one to 24). The 22,000-gate MPA1100 PLD should become available in the third quarter. The company also sells serial EPROMs for storing the PLD's programming data.
