VME communications controller offers four ports
Based on the Motorola MC68360, the QCom240 VME board from Heurikon provides four customizable serial communications ports. Prices for the board start at $2960 (100). The board's four serial channels use field-installable driver modules that provide the channel's electrical interface. The driver modules handle interfaces, such as EIA-530, -485, -232, and V.35, and software can configure the channel's operation to a range of protocols, including ISDN, UART, AppleTalk, T1/CEPT, and Ethernet. The I/O ports are accessible through the VME back panel and are accessible from the front panel through an optional companion board. The QCom240 board also offers two UART serial ports at its front panel.
