Report details engineering salaries
A new report from Abbott, Langer & Associates surveys industrial-engineering salaries. The survey finds that average income is $60,298, and salaries range from less than $20,000 to more than $450,000. The report, sponsored by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), bases its data on level of education, length of experience, ethnic origin, gender, primary job functions, size of employer, and many other factors. The $180 report reveals that median income is higher in nonmanufacturing organizations than in manufacturing companies. The lowest median incomes of IIE members were in companies manufacturing furniture and wood products, textile-mill products, and rubber and plastic products and in merchandising and insurance companies.
