Research funds available to develop industrial-control technologies

To help improve the energy and environmental performance of the state's industrial sector, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is offering funds for projects to design, develop, or make innovative, commercial industrial-control-technology products.

A total of $500,000 is available under Program Opportunity Notice 360-96 with a limit of $250,000 per project. Proposals are due by Sept 20, 1996, and NYSERDA requires cost-sharing for any prospective project.

Proposed control technologies should provide energy-efficiency and environmental benefits, economic-development potential for New York State, and increased productivity in waste reduction in the industrial sector. Technologies include controls for manufacturing monitoring/automation; plant optimization; power conditioning; and such actuator technologies as intelligent valves, variable-speed drives, motor-drive systems, smart sensors, and sensor-integration systems.
