Group offers turnkey TMN-development package

Microtec, Open Networks Engineering (ONE), and DSET Corp have banded to create a reference platform and tools for adding telecommunications-management-network (TMN) standards to carrier-equipment designs. The International Telecommunications Union defines the TMN standards, which provide a universal method for telecomm-service providers to monitor and control their networks and equipment.

The three companies have integrated their individual products into a package that works with 68360-based boards without additional porting. ONE provides its Foundation TMN Open Systems Interconnection protocol stack. DSET provides its TMN Agent Toolbox, with compiler and libraries for defining TMN-managed objects. Microtec contributes C/C++ compilers, its Xray debugger, and the VRTX, a real-time operating system. The companies will sell and support their own products but have contracted to provide coordinated software updates for the package. Development licenses for the package start at $159,000.
