FPGA cores accelerate DFT computations

The R1000 family of cores from Rice Electronics performs discrete Fourier transforms (DFTs) at 5 msec for a 16-point transform to 400 µsec for a 128-point transform. Rice is aiming the cores, which come in Xilinx XNF format, at the Xilinx XC4000 family. Prices for single-platform licenses range from $695 to $1995.
