Seven days to a custom microcontroller

Motorola has refined its module-based microcontroller-development methodology so that it can design a user-specified device in as little as seven working days. Production of the device can begin a few weeks later. The methodology produces both the IC design and supporting technical documentation within the seven days. The seven-day development time is currently available for 68HC08-based designs. Motorola plans to extend the methodology to its other microcontroller cores.
