SDH/SONET ICs operate at 2.5 Gbps. A two-chip set serves as the front end of an SDH STM-16 or SONET OC-48 optical-fiber-transmission system operating at 2.5 Gbps. Low-threshold MOSFETs keep on-resistance small. A family of five power MOSFETs boasts a maximum on-resistance of 16 mV at a 2.5V gate drive for the single n-channel Si9426DY. Hi-Con 120 series of DIN 41612 connectors uses insulation-displacement

Power-conversion IC switches at up to 1 MHz. The Si9117DY, a high-frequency monolithic power- conversion IC for fixed-network communications de-vices, requires up to 10W and contains all the active circuitry needed to replace a dc/dc module. Running directly off standard telephone-line power, the Si-9117DY operates at switching frequencies of up to 1 MHz and includes a 1V, 200V switching FET in its SOIC-16 package. IC decodes MPEG2 AVG for set-top boxes. The SAA7201 MPEG2 audio, video, and graphics (AVG) decoder accepts MPEG2 PAL signals to yield 8-bit/pixel full-screen graphics within the memory constraints of a single 16-Mbit SDRAM. The 3.3V device, housed in a 160-lead QFP, brings ad-vanced graphics to set-top digital-video broadcast re-ceivers. Linear-regulator ICs have low dropout. Housed in miniature, five-pin SOT-23 packages, the MAX8863T/S and MAX8864T/S linear regulators operate from a 2.5 to 5.5V input and deliver up to 100 mA. Dropout voltage is 60 mV with a 50-mA IOUT. Dual-mode operation en-ables the regulators to provide either an adjustable 1.25 to 5.5V output or a preset output (3.175V for the T version or 2.85V for the S version). Processor renders 3-D graphics. A family of 3-D graphics processors is based on PowerVR, a reduced-memory, 3-D-rendering ar-chitecture developed by NEC and VideoLogic. The single-chip PCX1 combines texture, shading, and image-synthesis functions with a PCI-bus interface. The device draws 257,000 sustained 100-pixel-sized triangles/sec at a resolution of 6403480 pixels, 30 frames/ sec, and 16.7 million colors. 3U VMEbus SBC carries two IP mezzanine sockets. Fully compatible with the VITA 4 IP specification, the VSBC-335 single-board computer for the VMEbus incorporates a 32-bit 68340 processor running at 25 MHz and two IP mezzanine sockets for expanding the board's functions. ISA-bus boards supply counter/ timers. DMOS transistors allow high-speed switching. The BS series of n- and p-channel DMOS transistors offers high-speed switching in both surface-mount and leaded versions. N-channel leaded devices have switch-on times ranging from 5 to 40 nsec and switch-off times from 15 to 100 nsec. For the n-channel surface-mount parts, switch-on time is 5 nsec, and switch-off is either 25 or 50 nsec. Pager IC keeps crystal costs down. Housed in a 1-mm-thick package, the SL6619 direct-conversion FSK data receiver incorporates automatic frequency control (AFC) and programmable postdetection filters. AFC gives the pager IC a wider center-frequency acceptance, typically ±4 kHz at 280 MHz, which allows the use of lower tolerance crystals.
