&& PREVIOUS FINALIST | MAIN | NEXT FINALIST >> Category: RF/Microwave Test Finalist: VectorStar microwave vectornetwork analyzer, Anritsu ![]() Anritsu says its VectorStar microwave VNAs deliver best-in-class frequency coverage of 70 kHz to 70 GHz, dynamic range of 103 dB at 67 GHz, and measurement speed of 20 µs/point. The 70-kHz low-end provides seven octaves of additional information below the traditional 10-MHz cut-off of conventional microwave VNAs. VectorStar features an innovative architecture to achieve its performance. For applications from 70 kHz to 2.5 GHz, a mixer-based receiver with bridges for directional devices is used. Above 2.5 GHz, a harmonic-sampling receiver is incorporated, with the traditional couplers for directional devices. The result is superior stability. Non-Linear Transmission Line (NLTL) technology is used for VectorStar’s receiver, resulting in uncompromising performance to 70 GHz and beyond. A VNA that operates in the frequency domain can supply time-domain information using inverse fast Fourier transform (FFT) to convert frequency-domain data to the time domain. A key benefit of time domain is characterizing a device’s impedance over distance or time. The most important VNA characteristic for time domain measurements is the overall frequency span, because it dictates measurement resolution. VectorStar’s industry-best frequency span makes it well suited for conducting time-domain measurements. |
