Why a kit in a watch? Chronos allows developers to wear their projects on their wrist and increases their accessibility to uncover remote design challenges. The CC430 combines the MSP430 core and an RF transceiver to support low power, single-chip radio-frequency (RF) implementations solution for microcontroller-based applications. The CC430 shrinks package and printed circuit board size by up to 50%. Priced at $49, the kit includes a 3-axis accelerometer for motion-sensitive control and sensors for data collection of altitude, temperature and battery voltage. It comes with RF protocols and open source example projects, including one that allows users to wirelessly control computer functions, like mouse movement or key-mapping. Developers can also use Chronos as a wireless hub to access real-time data from wirelessly paired custom sensors, such as a pedometer, heart rate monitor or GPS transmitter. hronos helps developers create a product that is wearable, low-cost, and easy-to-use, with full software, hardware, and community support. The Chronos Wiki page also fosters idea sharing and design tips. |
