&& PREVIOUS FINALIST | MAIN | NEXT FINALIST >> Category: Analog: Front-End ICs Finalist: MAX2078 eight-channel ultrasound front end with CW doppler mixers, Maxim Integrated Products ![]() The MAX2078 is an eight-channel CWD (continuous-wave Doppler) beamformer. Multiple MAX2078s can be con-catenated to form larger imaging arrays. The MAX2078 power consumption is 65 mW/channel. While there are other octal receivers available in this power range, none achieve comparable dynamic range or noise figure performance. Broadband SNR performance is 4 to 7 dB greater than competitive devices. The LNA features programmable active-input termination. Based on a patented architecture and implemented in a proprietary BiCMOS process, the MAX2078 CWD beam-former achieves exceptional near-carrier SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) performance. High near-carrier SNR perform-ance within 1 kHz or less of large carriers allows for exceptional low velocity pulsed Doppler sensitivity, an important receiver specification currently ignored by competitive devices. This enhances the detection of low-velocity blood flow. |
