The VMM1300 is a VESA DisplayPort-based controller that provides complete high-definition multimonitor capability without need for an additional graphics card. The device combines a DisplayPort receiver and multiple transmitters into a single chip, providing a high-bandwidth, high-performance, and cost-effective product for multiple PC monitors and display panels. To set up an IDT-based multimonitor configuration, simply plug up to three monitors into a single external dongle. Once connected, the system automatically configures the monitors and is ready to use. The VMM1300 automatically detects the number of connected monitors and adjusts the resolution for viewing across the screens. Also, no external power source is needed when the device is in DisplayPort mode, a particularly ideal attribute when used with notebook computers. |
