&& PREVIOUS FINALIST | MAIN | NEXT FINALIST >> Category: FPGAs Finalist: Spartan-6 LXT, Xilinx ![]() Xilinx Spartan-6 LXT FPGAs provide an optimal balance of cost, power, and performance and, for the first time, bring low power and ubiquitous high-speed connectivity to price-sensitive, high-volume markets. Spartan-6 LXT FPGAs are the industry's lowest-risk and lowest-cost solution for serial connectivity, delivering up to eight 3.125Gbps GTP transceivers and an integrated PCI Express-compatible core, both derived from proven Virtex technology. Xilinx Spartan-6 LXT FPGAs are the first low-cost FPGAs fabricated on 45nm. Spartan-6 LXT is part of the Spartan-6 domain-optimized FPGA family, which integrates ubiquitous connectivity standards for a broad set of cost-sensitive applications. This enables system developers to meet demand for new features, while also reducing system costs by up to half for lower power, 'greener' products. Additionally, Spartan-6 FPGAs include: up to 140k logic cells in a new 6-input LUT logic fabric, up to 4,800kbits of RAM, and up to 180 DSP48A1slices; 3.125Gbps GTP low-power transceivers consuming less than150mW typ.; integrated PCI Express Endpoint blocks, providing PCI SIG-verified rev. 1.1, Gen1 compliance; an integrated memory controller block that simplifies the implementation of high-bandwidth (up to 800Mbps) DDR2 and DDR3 memory interfaces; and additional power saving with hibernate power-down mode. |
