&& PREVIOUS FINALIST | MAIN | NEXT FINALIST >> Category: EDA: PCB, FPGA, and Mixed-signal/RF ICs Finalist: Simics Hybrid Simulation solution (Virtutech) As sophisticated multicore processors become more prevalent, software and hardware architects are shifting development focus from a purely performance perspective to optimization and increased flexibility on a multicore processor. The Virtutech Simics Hybrid Simulation capability was created to enable engineers to do just that. Developed in collaboration with Freescale Semiconductor, the Simics Hybrid Simulation capability enables developers to solve the complex issues of deploying multicore processing, delivering a high-level of confidence that their end product will meet design and performance goals. It allows engineers to analyze, debug, profile, and execute applications in a fast, TLM-based, functionally accurate model and then switch to the cycle-accurate model to perform precise performance analysis on critical sections of applications. By incorporating the golden model from a semiconductor vendor like Freescale, developers have the benefit of using an accurate timing model provided by the SoC source instead of a less valid one developed by a third party. |
