Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has been notified that there will be an investigation of the SRAM market by the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division.
The company said it would make available employees, documents and all other relevant information to the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division to fully support the investigation.
Further information on the investigation has not yet been disclosed by the Justice Department.
The news follows a long investigation, litigation and eventual settlement of similar claims against several companies in the DRAM industry.
In more positive news for the company, Cypress' subsidiary, San Jose-based solar cell and solar panel provider SunPower Corp., has recently formed a joint venture with Korea-based equipment manufacturer Woongjin Coway to manufacture mono-crystalline silicon ingots.
