As the outsourcing of electronics manufacturing continues, revenue for the worldwide electronic manufacturing services (EMS) market was $190 billion in 2005, a 14 percent increase over 2004, expected to reach $328 billion in 2010, according to San Jose-based market research firm Electronic Trend Publications.

The firm also found that in the EMS industry, Asian factories accounted for 45 percent of the industry’s production in 2005, while the computer and peripherals market made up 39 percent of the industry’s revenue in 2005.
