United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC) experienced a bit of a sales slowdown in September.
The Taipei, Taiwan-based silicon foundry announced sales for the month of September of $279 million (9.23 billion New Taiwan dollars).
That marked a downward turn of 1.94 percent from August's sales but up 8.6 percent from sales a year ago in September 2005.
However, for the year thus far, the period between January and September, the company's sales were up 23.2 percent from 2005, to $2.4 billion (77.99 billion New Taiwan dollars).
