Matsushita Shuffles Executives

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. today announced several changes in its top tier executives.

Matsushita’s current President Kunio Nakamura will become the chairman of the board, while the current Senior Managing Director Fumio Ohtsubo will become president.

Yoichi Morishita, chairman of the board, will be named executive advisor. Susumu Koike, senior managing director in charge of technology and semiconductors, was promoted to executive vice president of the semiconductor business.

These proposed changes will be submitted for approval at the company’s general meeting of shareholders to be held on June 28.
