Advanced Micro Devices has invested in IP player Patriot Scientific Corp., purchasing restricted shares from the company.
In doing so, AMD has obtained rights to manufacture and sell the PTSC Ignite 32-bit stack microprocessor and rights to the ShBoom microprocessor patent portfolio in its entirety, the duo announced today.
AMD is the first company to license the ShBoom microprocessor portfolio from PTSC.
"Our agreements with AMD represent a watershed moment for PTSC," Jeff Wallin, CEO of PTSC, said in a statement. "We're confident that our patent portfolio will benefit both companies for many years to come."
