Secure communications processors simultaneously support multiple security protocols
-- EDN, January 24, 2005
The CN220 and CN225 SCP (Secure Communication Processor) supports security protocols IPSec, SSL, and CCMP; as much as 200 Mbps of routing; a firewall; and VPN throughput with more than 100 IKE or SSL transactions/sec. It also includes two security-acceleration engines; encryption and hashing algorithms DES, 3DES, 256-bit AES, and HMAC MD5/SHA1; and as many as 900 1024-bit RSA or 1550 180-bit Diffie-Hellman exponent operations/sec. The SPCs integrate a MIPS32 4Km processor with 16 kbytes of instruction cache and 16 kbytes of data cache, 16 kbytes of scratchpad memory, and a 32-bit SDRAM main-memory interface. $20 each (10,000).
