By Warren Webb -- EDN, January 22, 2004

The recently introduced SpacePC 4320 Pentium class PC/104-Plus single-board computer from Parvus Targets defense, aviation, and other demanding applications (Picture). Parvus based the device on the Pentium MMX class AMD Geode GX1 CPU; it is available in both standard 0 to +60°C and extended –40 to +85°C versions. The module couples all of the standard interfaces of a desktop PC with support for both Windows and real-time operating systems, such as Linux, QNX, and VxWorks.

Integrated peripheral controllers include SVGA with resolution as high as 1280×1024 pixels, two serial ports, one parallel port, one Fast Ethernet controller, one E-IDE interface, a keyboard port, a mouse port, a USB port, and an AC7 sound port. The SpacePC 4320 embedded computer is roughly the size of a floppy disk—3.55×3.775 in.—and sells for $372 each (100 or more). Parvus will provide a limited quantity of the SpacePC 4320 CPU for free evaluation while supplies last.
