PC/104 computer boasts CompactFlash, USB, and Ethernet

The new SBC1586 from Micro/sys provides a complete single-board computer in the popular 3.55×3.775-in. PC/104 footprint (Picture). In addition to standard PC features, the new board also includes a CompactFlash connector, four serial ports, a USB-host controller with one USB port, and Ethernet support for both 10BaseT and 100BaseT. With as much as 256 Mbytes of DRAM and full AT-compatibility, an SBC1586-based system can run headless and diskless applications plus full disk-based GUI systems with Compact-Flash and USB peripherals.
The SBC1586 integrates the Intel Pentium Tillamook processor, which offers speeds of 166 or 266 MHz, on-chip cache, 64-bit DRAM access, and hardware floating point. Micro/sys installs a ready-to-run firmware system on the SBC1586 that includes a complete BIOS, board-setup screens, and application-download utilities. Alternatively, the SBC1586 can boot DOS, Windows 95/98/NT, Linux, Windows CE, NT Embedded, VxWorks, and other PC-compatible operating systems. Prices for the basic SBC1586 with 32 Mbytes of DRAM and 1 Mbyte of flash start at $485 (one).
