Physical-simulation environment targets automotive design

Automotive designers have traditionally had to build hardware prototypes for all of the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components a car's subsystem needs for testing and verifying its functions. Now, a new design environment from Synopsys links the Saber simulator with Applied Dynamics International's SIMsystem HiL to provide real-time verification and validation for automotive-system designs.
The simulation environment replaces the need for hardware prototypes, speeding time to production and reducing development expenses. You must purchase the two components of the design environment separately. Saber is available for $15,000 for a one-year technology-subscription license. SIMsystem for real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation is available from Applied Dynamics International on a custom-application basis.
