LSI Logic Storage Files for IPO

Online staff -- EDN, May 7, 2004

LSI Logic Storage Systems Inc. late Thursday filed for an IPO and announced it intends to operate under the name Engenio Information Technologies.

Additionally, the company announced that it has filed an application for listing with the New York Stock Exchange to trade under the ticker symbol "NGE."

The steps were taken in preparation for the previously announced IPO and separation from its parent company, LSI Logic Corp. The IPO is anticipated to be completed in the first half of 2004.

"We are proud to have chosen Engenio Information Technologies to represent us as we become an independent company," said Thomas Georgens, president and CEO, LSI Logic Storage Systems, in a statement. "Engenio reflects appropriately upon our heritage of innovation in information storage technology while offering a strong new identity to serve us well in the future."

A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective, the company said.
