BitBlitz has announced the BBTX400, a quad 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 10-Gigabit Fiber Channel transceiver. It targets multiple-channel CWDM (coarse-wavelength-division-multiplexing), XFP (10-Gigabit small-form-factor-pluggable), and backplane applications. The company based the device on CMOS technology, and you can operate each channel independently of the others with less than 0.8-psec rms jitter. The transceiver will become available for sampling this month, and the price is $675 (one).
