FROM EDN EUROPE: Software aids EMC studies and component design
By Graham Prophet -- EDN, January 10, 2002
Ansys' AI*Emax lets you easily analyse a range of high-frequency electromagnetic effects. A significant enhancement over previous versions of Ansys' tools is the incorporation of the Icem AutoHexa software, which automatically performs the "meshing" step of preparing the description of a mechanical structure for electromagnetic analysis. Users no longer need detailed knowledge or experience of the finite-element-analysis aspects of the process. The package has interfaces to most commonly used mechanical-CAD data formats for importing data and uses the Ansys 6.0 solvers. With the tool set, you can design RF and microwave components and perform EMI and compatibility simulations and design structures, such as antennae.
