Axial fan is airily silent

A family of 80x80x25-mm tube axial fans (Picture) from EBM Industries claims 50% reduction in noise levels, 10% savings in power consumption, and 20% greater airflow over previous EBM fans. Models 8412N and 8414N take 12 and 24V drive voltages, respectively. Models are available with airflow specs of 19 to 47 cfm. For fans with 27- or 34-cfm ratings, the noise level is 8 dBA lower than other 80-mm fans. The 12V models operate from drive voltages of 8 to 15V; 24V models accept 18 to 28V. Noise levels range from 12 to 37 dBA, and input power ranges from 0.6 to 2.8W. "Smart"-fan options include speed monitoring, external motor control, and temperature sensing and control.
