Connector tool joins MapleSim models to dSPACE controller board

Maplesoft has introduced the MapleSim Connector for dSPACE Systems to streamline rapid control prototyping with MapleSim real-time simulation. The connector automatically converts high-fidelity MapleSim models into high-performance, real-time applications running on the dSPACE DS1104 R&D controller board. Maplesoft says because this solution does not require the MathWorks toolchain, system modeling, and control design real-time implementation can be done in a single environment at a reduced cost.

The connector is designed to allow engineers to implement fast execution without loss of model fidelity by taking advantage of efficient model formulation and code generation in MapleSim, a physical modeling and simulation tool built on a foundation of symbolic computation technology. This tool handles all of the complex mathematics involved in the development of high-fidelity, high-performance engineering models, including multi-domain systems, plant modeling, and control design.
In addition to the dSPACE DS1104 R&D controller board, MapleSim models can also be exported directly to Simulink and National Instruments LabVIEW and NI VeriStand for real-time implementation in hardware-in-the-loop systems, as well as to stand-alone applications for fast simulations.
