RFIC switch is easy to control

By Bill Schweber -- EDN, 11/8/2001

NEC's SPDT UPG2005TB switch handles signals as high as 2.5 GHz in RF applications, such as cellular phones, wireless LANs, and Bluetooth and IEEE 802 circuitry for transmitting/receiving, antenna diversity, and power-level-control functions (Picture). A single 2.8V bias signal controls the six-pin, SOT-363 TB-style-package IC. Typical key attributes include insertion loss of 0.35/0.5 dB (1/2.5 GHz, respectively) and isolation of 29/25 dB (1/2.5 GHz, respectively). The switch IC costs 54 cents (50,000) and is available through California Eastern Laboratories.
