Web site eases E911 confusion

By Nicholas Cravotta -- EDN, 11/22/2001

If you're confused about the FCC Enhanced 911 (E911) mandate, try visiting Sirf Technology's www.sirf.com/e911.html Web site. Although the site is for journalists, it provides a series of links that engineers will find useful. The links include www.fcc.org, which contains information about the E911 mandate; www.nena.org/PressRoom_Publications/press_room_pub.htm, a press room for the National Emergency Numbers Association, which has comprehensive cell-phone-usage information; www.apco911.org, a public-safety-communications-enhancement site; www.wirelessdevnet.com, an E911 news and features site; and http://spatialnews.geocomm.com, a general E911 information site.
