Group delivers Serial RapidIO model

By Nicholas Cravotta -- EDN, 5/1/2003

The RapidIO Trade Association has released a Serial RapidIO bus-functional model for use in verifying Serial RapidIO-system interoperability. Motorola (www.motorola.com) developed the software model, which complements the HIP (hardware-interconnect-platform) specification the association issued last year. The model is written in C and available to member companies of the RapidIO Trade Association.

New RapidIO products available for sampling include the Tsi400 and Tsi500 from Tundra. The Tsi400 RapidIO-to-PCI-X bridge sells for $39 (10,000), and the Tsi500 RapidIO multiport switch sells for $59 (10,000). Tundra also offers the $2499 (one) RapidIO HIP motherboard, which IneoQuest Technologies manufactures and distributes.
