UWB antenna goes portable

TRDA, a US-based R&D division of Taiyo Yuden, has announced a ceramic chip antenna for UWB (ultra-wideband) applications in the 3.1- to 10.6-GHz frequency band (Picture). Miniaturization of the antenna to 10×8×1 mm means that you can fit it into UWB in portable devices. Samples will be available next month for $5 to $10, including connectors, cable, and ground plane.
