Presilicon prototyping software adds self-test for debugging

By Gabe Moretti -- EDN, 8/21/2003

Aptix Corp has released Version 5.0 of its software for its System Explorer and Software Integration Station reconfigurable-prototyping products. The new release supports TCL scripting, Gtech (Synopsys internal format) netlist flows, and a flexible probe-instrumentation flow in Aptix’s Design Pilot logic-mapping tool. The Explorer software now has a new hardware self-test program to help users focus on debugging their designs rather than debugging hardware faults.

Other enhancements include support for asynchronous-clock-datapath management, improved trigger setup for multiplexed buses, and an improved logic optimizer that reduces the number of FPGAs you require to emulate the design. Version 5.0 sells for $60,000.
