Samtec enhances connector model library

By Gabe Moretti -- EDN, 9/25/2003

Designers of pc boards are relying more on the availability of IBIS (I/O Buffer Information Specification) models to solve timing problem in high-speed designs. Samtec has released what it labels “IBIS-like” models for connectors in formats that support Cadence (www.cadence.com) Specctraquest, Mentor (www.mentor.com) ICX, and Hyperlynx (www.mentor.com/hyperlynx) LineSim. The models are built to the preliminary version of the latest IBIS specification. As soon as the IBIS Open Forum makes the specification official the models will undergo any required changes and will become official IBIS models. Designers can download the new models from the company’s Web site.
