Dynatem's recently introduced PMCX-LAN, a PMC/PMCX-compatible, dual-channel, 10/100/1000/BaseT Ethernet controller card targets use in high-performance networking applications (Picture). Using Intel’s 82546EB dual-port Gigabit Ethernet controller, the PMCX-LAN provides two 64-kbyte FIFOs and pipelined DMA to streamline the system interface. You can access the PMCX-LAN’s two gigabit Ethernet ports from the front panel via two RJ-45 connectors, and you can view indicator LEDs from the front panel.
Software drivers are available for Windows NT/2000, Linux, and VxWorks. The PMCX-LAN is compatible with Dynatem’s DHC VMEbus single-board computer, which comes with an optional second-slot PMCX carrier. The carrier module provides one 64-bit PMC slot that can operate as fast as 133 MHz and two other 64- bit PMC slots that can operate at 100 MHz. The PMCX-LAN is also backward-compatible and can operate on 32-bit carriers at 33 MHz. Prices for the PMCX-LAN start at $725 (one).
