Winners!
From our Jan 6, 2000, contest
By Staff -- EDN, 2/17/2000
Although not in the dating business, perhaps Alditech (www.alditech.com) should consider expanding its expertise. In the meantime, the company—and manufacturer of the widget—has developed a new generation of digital recording heads that can store more than 100 Gbytes of noncompressed data on one commercially available digital cassette. These heads allow at least five times more storage capacity than current heads.

Name this widget and win $100!

Has Wally Widget drawn you in with his magnetism? He wants to hear from you. Simply enter our "Name that Widget!" contest with your clever guesses about the identity of the widget in our next contest. You could win $100. Send your entry (or entries), along with the issue date, by e-mail (widget@edn.cahners.com), by fax (Wallace P Widget, 1-617-558-4470), or by snail mail (Wallace P Widget, EDN, 275 Washington St, Newton, MA 02458). Tell us what you think the mystery widget is. Don't tell us what it really is; tell us what it could be. We'll publish the winning entry and some witty and amusing honorable mentions in an upcoming issue. We'll also tell you the manufacturer's real name for and the purpose of the device. Please supply an e-mail or mailing address so we can notify you if you win. And may the (magnetic) force be with you.
