Smart digital fans have programmed functions

A series of digital fans from ebm Industries offers user-selectable preprogrammed functions (Picture). Built-in software in VarioPro fans directs the operation of the fan. You can define your own speed-characteristic profile from as many as 14 selectable points or from linear interpolation between the points. Alternatively, you can set the speed from an external source, using a PWM signal. You can integrate an internal or external temperature sensor and select from a variety of alarm and tachometer functions. The fans can use temperature as a speed-control variable, using a speed-change profile in the –40 to +100°C range.
