Corrigan Steps Down as LSI Logic Chairman
By Jennifer Prestigiacomo -- Electronic News, 2/21/2006
Wilfred Corrigan has notified LSI Logic Corp. that he will not stand for re-election to the board of directors at the company’s next annual stockholder’s meeting to be held on May 11, according to a report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Corrigan, who founded LSI Logic in 1981 and who and currently serves as the chairman of the board, notified the company of his plans on February 13, the SEC document said.
Corrigan will continue to serve as chairman through the end of his current term. The board is expected to elect a new chairperson at that time.
The SEC report cites that Corrigan’s decision was anticipated and there are no disagreements between him and LSI Logic that caused or contributed to his decision to not stand for re-election.
Corrigan stepped down as CEO last year, and Abhi Talwalkar, a former Intel executive, was named president and CEO in May 2005.
