Renesas Rearranges Titles at the Top

Renesas Technology Corp. has appointed Satoru Ito to the positions of chairman and CEO, one of several management changes the company announced this week.

Ito had previously served as president and CEO and in his new role he will oversee all aspects of the management of Renesas.

Katsuhiro Tsukamoto, who currently serves as executive VP, will move into the roles of president and COO and will focus on business operations.

“The new appointments will strengthen the company’s corporate structure and contribute to more responsive and more agile management of the company,” Renesas said in a statement

In addition, Yasuhiko Fukuda, executive VP and board director; and Katsumi Suizu, senior VP and board director will retire from their current positions March 31. Joining the board as of April 1 are Yutaka Funada, Koji Yamanaka and Tadashi Nishimura.

Finally, as part of the company’s efforts to strengthen internal control functions, Toshio Nohara will be appointed to the post of corporate auditor.
