Nanometrics targets solar manufacturing industry with Tevet acquisition
The integrated metrology (IM) products that Nanometrics is acquiring from Tevet are differentiated and highly complementary to its IM business and represents an additional entry point with leading semiconductor OEMs, as well as companies in the solar manufacturing industry.

To broaden its integrated metrology product line, Milpitas, Calif.-based semiconductor metrology company Nanometrics Inc [NANO] this week said it has acquired Tevet Process Control Technologies Ltd based in Yoknea’m, Israel, through an all-cash asset purchase transaction.
Tevet is an integrated metrology (IM) company with products aimed at the semiconductor and solar manufacturing industry.
Nanometrics explained that the acquisition of Tevet furthers its strategy to offer a breadth of process control metrology solutions that address both advanced technology as well as cost of ownership.
With this acquisition, Nanometrics is adding Tevet’s excursion monitoring IM product to its portfolio of metrology solutions.
“The new IM products are differentiated and highly complementary to our IM business. This represents an additional entry point for us with leading semiconductor OEMs, as well as companies in the solar manufacturing industry,” concluded Steve Bradley, director of the integrated metrology business unit at Nanometrics, in a statement.
In January, Nanometrics reduced its workforce by 7%.
