Less than three weeks after its official launch, ST-NXP Wireless has named its third top-tier executive from parent company NXP semiconductors.
Pascal Langlois, NXP’s senior VP of global sales, will transfer to the newly created wireless joint venture on September 1. Langlois will join ST-NXP Wireless as corporate VP of sales and marketing and will report directly to company CEO Alain Dutheil.
While Dutheil came from parent company STMicroelectronics, Langlois joins his ex-NXP colleagues Abhijit Bhattacharya, formerly financial controller of NXP’s multimarket semiconductors business unit and the new company as CFO, and Marc Cetto, former executive VP and general manager of NXP’s mobile and personal business unit, at Switzerland-based ST-NXP Wireless.
“While I regret the loss of Pascal’s experience for NXP, I would like to congratulate Pascal on this appointment and wish him every success in the JV,” Frans van Houten, NXP’s CEO, said in a statement today. “We are proud that three senior executives from NXP will have key roles driving the success of ST-NXP Wireless.”
Langlois joined NXP (then Philips Semiconductors) in 1999 after the company acquired VLSI Technology. In 2006 Langlois was appointed senior VP of global sales following what NXP described as a “successful period” when he was responsible for channel management and global sales for the company’s multimarket semiconductor business unit.
NXP reported that Alexander Everke, senior VP and general manager of the multimarket semiconductor business unit, will assume responsibility for the global sales function at NXP, alongside his current role, on an interim basis.
ST-NXP Wireless was first announced in April and combines the two parent companies wireless businesses. Launched on August 2, the ST majority owned joint venture will initially focus on 2G, 2.5G, 3G, and multimedia connectivity.
