Should online journalists be afforded the same protections as print journalists? Apple will argue in a San Jose appeals court today that whatever an online journalist is, they shouldn't. What constitutes an online journalist, anyway? Is it Drudge? Is it John Q. Citizen who happens to have a blog that carries news? Last year, a judge ruled Apple could subpoena records from a web site that scooped an Apple product. Folks, this is nothing more other than an ego-driven witch hunt. Long live freedom of speech and the press, which by the way is protected in the First Amendment. What do you think?
