“Shares of Apple climbed $4.59, or 3.8%, to $125.09 on the Nasdaq Stock Market following word the iPhone will have a longer battery life than originally expected.”

--From June 18th Wall Street journal.

Now this is impressive – it’s one thing for Sony stock to fall after news of massive laptop battery pack recalls, it’s quite another for a major corporation’s stock to rise based on news of enhanced battery performance. Yessss, system power begins to get the respect it deserves.

Here are the specs from Apple’s site (along with details of test conditions):

Talk Time - Up to 8 hours (compare this to the Treao’s and Blackberry Cure’s 4 hours)

Standby - Up to 250 hours

Internet Use  - Up to 6 hours

Video Playback -  Up to 7 hours

Audio playback -  Up to 24 hours
