Endicott Research Group Smart Force: LED-driver boards feature full-function LED drivers

Sep 6 2007 12:48PM | Permalink |Comments (2) |

Targeting a range of industrial LCDs, the two Smart Force LED-driver boards provide full-function LED drivers. The SFDL series driver board includes a 180-mA maximum current, high-efficiency power to LED rails used in LCDs as large as 12.1 in diagonal, with wide-range dimming, wide input voltage, and full brightness. Measuring 1.1×3.93×8 mm, the driver board provides a 1000-to-1 onboard PWM (pulse-width modulation) dimming ratio and 5000-to-1 external PWM dimming. The SFDC series driver board features a 1000-mA maximum current for high-power high-brightness-LED backlight rails used in LCDs as large as 20.1 in. diagonal. Measuring 27.9×142.5×12 mm, the device provides a 1000-to-1 onboard PWM dimming ratio and a 20,000-to-1 external PWM dimming ratio. Varying according to LCD size, the SFDL series driver board for backlighting an NEC NL 10276BC13-01C 6.5-in. TFT (thin-film-transistor) LCD costs $20.

What I meant to add was that, unlike IC chips, they are genuinely full function drivers as well as power supplies.
