Using two DSP cores, the Symphony DSP56724 and DSP46725 processors deliver as much as 250 MHz per core. Providing pin and peripheral compatibility with the Symphony multicore DSP56720/721 DSPs, the audio processors provide 112k×24-bit words of integrated memory. The DSP56724 includes an external-memory controller; the DSP56725 eliminates the need for an external memory controller, providing a smaller option. Both devices integrate an S/PDIF transceiver and a 10-channel asynchronous sample-rate converter. The DSP56724 comes in an LQFP-144 package and costs $6.39 (10,000); the DSP56725 comes in an LQFP-80 and costs $5.97 (10,000).
