I really like the DesignCon show here in Silicon Valley. The next one is Feb 2-5 2009 at the Santa Clara Convention center, a place with plenty of free parking, unlike any show in San Francisco. It is at DesignCon that I meet many of my analog pals, it is a show for system design engineers as well as IC designers. They just sent out a call for speaking proposals. Deadline is November 15th so get right on it. You can see the session abstracts here. You can create a username and submit a proposal here. From the press release:
Speaking proposals may also be submitted directly from a session on our Web site. All speaker proposals need to be submitted using the speaker’s e-mail address in the registration proposal process. An e-mail is sent directly to the speaker confirming receipt of his proposal. Please do not submit using anyone else’s e-mail address other than that of the speaker. Contacts for a speaker may add their information later in the process, but not at registration of a speaker.
As with all IEC conferences, the session chairs make the final decision regarding who will speak on their panels for that particular session. If your proposal is selected, an automatic e-mail is sent from the submission system, followed by direct contact from the chairperson further confirming your participation.
Speaking proposals received early on in the process have a better chance of being selected (please note this is a supplemental tool for the chairs). If selected as a speaker on a panel, you will receive complimentary admittance to the conference. There is no sponsorship fee required to speak.
Even if you don’t want to speak, be sure to put the show on your calendar and check it out.
