Woot and Slickdeals websites

My brilliant young protégé Francis Lau dropped over last night to see if I enjoyed my trip to Vietnam. While I was showing him my pictures he mentioned two cool sites he uses to buy cheap consumer electronics. One is called woot.com. The deal there is they sell one thing and only one thing every day. Today it is a 7 mega-pixel Kodak camera bundled with a photo-printer dock. They want 149 dollars and shipping is just 5 dollars. The other site is slickdeals.net. They have various good deals probably on overstock or other merchandise- One just caught my eye was a Viewsonic 20 inch LCD for 110 dollars (after a 20 dollar rebate) and it has free shipping. This deal has expired though. It comes from Office Depot so this seems more like a social networking site that alerts you to good deals from anyplace people can find them.

I asked where Francis learned about this and he said his fiends all use these sites and that is where he got hip. Ah to be young again and connected to the pop scene. Francis also had a cool Phillips electric toothbrush—I may buy one and take it apart for a Prying Eyes feature like I did my Plantronics phone. I bought a Phillips MP3 player in Singapore and I hate so I will definitely take that apart for you. Stay tuned.

You have just touched the tip of the iceberg... try fatwallet.com, resellerratings.com, techbargains.com, etc. Many of these are in forum style which can allow users to post further experiences and info. You can even set alerts for updates or changes for keyworded items. p.s. this has nothing to do with being young or connected but simply using the web to your advantage.

No doubt Slickdeals is a good site but you can also check CouponAlbum for best coupons and discounts from the branded stores like Target, overstock, Shoebuy, Walmart.......

I just found your blog, and wanted to share a website that I think might help you find more deals... www.dealness.com It actually scrapes all of the sites you listed above (woot, slickdeals, plus a bunch more), all in one, easy to use, customizable place...

Gotta check DealRocker too. It has over two million product offers from about 2,000 merchants. DealRocker.com offers the best combination of deals and coupons at one place. The deals and free coupons are updated regularly and span a wide range of product categories to address a variety of shopping needs. It Rocks !!!!

"I asked where Francis learned about this and he said his fiends all use these sites and that is where he got hip." - I think you should stop hanging around with fiends, you will soon turn into one yourself. Also you should try a new thing all the kids are using called "google" - you can search using "key words" like "good Deals" or "best price for x" substitute x for what you are looking for.
